Jupiter Development Update: My Meeting with the Town’s Planning Director

I met with the Director of Planning and Zoning for the Town of Jupiter earlier this week. My key takeaways:

View the carousel

  • Jupiter is keeping pace with the development activity seen in West Palm Beach and other parts of Palm Beach County.
  • The diversified product mix reflects Jupiter’s own character as it continues to evolve.
  • The Town remains committed to a lower skyline profile, preserving quality of life for residents and businesses alike.

Project Highlights

This update is cross-checked against the Town of Jupiter Planning and Zoning Department’s own presentation to Illustrated Properties, delivered by Director John R. Sickler, AICP, plus the Town’s public Current Major Projects register.

  • Beacon Park: 103 single-family homes and 12 workforce units on Pulte/DiVosta’s site at Indiantown Road and I-95. It is the last large undeveloped parcel of its kind inside Jupiter town limits.
  • Abacoa Workplace Apartments: 313 units, including 40 workforce housing units, confirmed to the exact count by the Town’s presentation.
  • Suni Sands: the developer and the Town reached an accord preserving a historic shell mound while allowing generous greenspace alongside limited development: 67 condos, 5 townhomes and a 125-room hotel directly on the Jupiter Inlet, across from the Jupiter Lighthouse.
  • Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium: a $108 million renovation, substantially complete, with new clubhouses, an umpire locker room and fan amenities in place.
