Setting and Lifestyle
Jupiter is defined by the water. Beaches, the inlet, the river and the Intracoastal shape daily life, from morning walks on the sand to evenings on the Riverwalk. It is the northernmost town in Palm Beach County and keeps a relaxed, coastal pace.
Palm Beach Gardens grew from John D. MacArthur’s vision of a “garden city.” It is larger and more suburban, with a deep lineup of private golf clubs, regional shopping along PGA Boulevard and a growing base of healthcare, engineering and corporate employers.
Homes and Communities
- Jupiter: oceanfront and Intracoastal condominiums, riverfront and deep-water homes with ocean access, gated golf and country club communities, the walkable neighborhoods of Abacoa, and larger equestrian properties in Jupiter Farms.
- Palm Beach Gardens: one of the widest selections of private golf communities in the county, including PGA National, BallenIsles, Mirasol, Old Palm and Frenchman’s Creek, along with established neighborhoods, townhomes and condominiums near PGA Boulevard, and new construction in Avenir, a planned community of about 4,752 acres with nearly 4,000 homes.

Golf, Boating and Recreation
- Jupiter is a boater’s town, with inlet access to the Atlantic, the Loxahatchee River for paddling, miles of beaches and spring training for the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
- Palm Beach Gardens is the golf capital of the Palm Beaches. PGA National hosted the 1983 Ryder Cup and 1987 PGA Championship and hosts the annual Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches PGA TOUR event.
Shopping and Dining
- Jupiter: waterfront dining along the Riverwalk and at Harbourside Place, plus Downtown Abacoa.
- Palm Beach Gardens: The Gardens Mall, Downtown at the Gardens, PGA Commons, Midtown and Legacy Place, all along PGA Boulevard.
Which One Fits You?
Jupiter may be the better fit if you want: beaches close to home, inlet and river boating, a coastal small-town pace, the Riverwalk and spring training.
Palm Beach Gardens may be the better fit if you want: a wide choice of private golf clubs, regional shopping and dining minutes away, new construction options in Avenir and proximity to major employers.
Many buyers look at both. Because they border each other, you can live in one and enjoy the other every week.
